Except for the frequent spitting up part, he is still a sparkly-eyed, bouncing, giggly baby boy. Well okay, except maybe for that baby part. He has grown so much and so fast in the last year. Surreal still applies, especially when I look at the photos and videos from our bonding days. Is that really the same little boy that is tearing up the house now?!
7.5 months old
A few sweet moments while we were getting acquainted in Aqtobe.
A few recent photos of Brady in action.
My little guy loves to read books, especially if those books are about cars, trains, trucks, or tractors -- anything with wheels. Elmo is okay too, but Thomas the Train is even better.

Won't wear a hat when I put one on him, but he found this baby swim hat, put it on himself, and wore it for a good hour (in the house).

Faster! Faster! Brady giggled and giggled when his friend Brandon pulled him in his Megablock wagon.
We went to the park on the Fourth of July for the neighborhood celebration. They had a little petting zoo. Brady was afraid of the pony, the burro, the sheep, the goat, and the calf, but the bunny was okay for a couple of seconds.
Brady's love of trucks AND water -- what could be better?! He put this truck in the pool by himself.

I've been missing the simpler life in Kazakhstan rather intensely the last few weeks. No doubt it is because it is summer and this anniversary is upon us. The sweltering, quiet, and repetitious visits twice a day to the babyhouse, the creative meals and warm hospitality served up by Regina, the chuckles and smiles from our native Kazakh driver, Ceric, and the list goes on and on. It was a wondrous and life-changing journey. As stressful as the process and, initially, that first visit to Aqtobe was, I'd do it all over again, a thousand times, for the same result.

awww Happy happy happy Anniversary! Our lunch at Mad Murphy's seems like yesterday! Brady is so adorable-just as he was a year ago.
He's such a happy adventurous lil man! Congrats to both of you!!!
Alysa,
Happy 1 year anniversary. What an amazing year it has been. I loved following your journey and although it was long and took 3 trips to Kaz and back, the end result is beautiful. Your little Brady is so handsome. His smile is infectious.
I hope the next year brings you many more fabulous memories.

Happy anniversary! It's hard to imagine it's been a year. Yep, Brady and Griffin would get along just fine. I totally cracked up seeing the truck in the swimming pool. Ah, just gotta love boys, huh? Man o man, it's hot hear in Texas. 105 degrees. I'm ready to get back outide and enjoy things. I just learned that Thomas the Train is coming to visit a town about an hour from here. That conductor dude will be there and they'll give real train rides to the kids. You might want to check to see if he's visiting near your home. Friend of mine have said that the kids LOVE it. Ok, off to take a nap while I can. Take care! usan
OMG, I'm crying my eyes out Alysa. Happy belated anniversary!(And how did I miss this post?)
I can't believe Brady is so big.
I can't believe where we were just a little over a year ago.
I can't believe how lucky we are!
This really brings back some wonderful memories. There are just no words for what we went through together and I am so grateful that we could share this crazy beautiful experience.
Much love and many hugs to you and sweet Brady Boo!
(P.S. Every time I use my Emeril Chicken Rub spice I think of you. You left me your spice packets when you left after trip 1, and that partiular one was a lifesaver from the blandness of "safe" home cooking in Kaz!
