A family isn't determined by who is or isn't in it, or how it came to be, but by the bond that is created by the love that is shared.

Time flies

Noticed the little tracker at the top of my blog the other day and my journey to my child had passed the one year mark. And that was just since submitting my application to LMI; it actually started over a year prior to that. It's amazing. It seems like yesterday that I was still in California, working in my garden under the redwoods, having "staff meetings" at the local watering hole with my good friends and coworkers, and spending all night on the internet investigating the world of international adoption. Fast forward to now, in a different job, a different state, a different house, driving a different car, new friends added to the roster, and with a largely different life, waiting for my LOI, knowing that the biggest change is yet to come. The old saying "wherever you go, there you are" still holds true, but "there" is looking a whole lot different these days. I welcome the change and am getting more excited by the day for what the future holds.

Time flies like you wouldn't believe. I still remember happy hour...I'm pretty sure the last happy hour I was at was over 4 years ago. I can still taste margaritas some days :)
