A family isn't determined by who is or isn't in it, or how it came to be, but by the bond that is created by the love that is shared.

Bath Time is Fun Time!

Brady has decided he loves playing in the water now! He is a bit nervous when I set him in the little tub, but no crying, and he immediately lets go of the sides (white-knuckled it until now) and starts splashing. He seems kinda surprised when it gets him in the face, but just swipes at his eyes and keeps going. The tears to do start when I rinse him off with the handheld showerhead though, but we'll keep trying to conquer that one, cuz we have one at home too.

Looks like Brady's passport will arrive Thursday, so we can have our 5-minute embassy appointment at 3pm Friday and head for home at 3:20am Saturday! Woo-hoo! Except the flights are full, so we are booked for Sunday instead. We are going to try to get on a standby list at the local Lufthansa office for Saturday and see what happens. Hope we can make it happen without having to show up at the airport at midnight Saturday just to be turned away! I was all excited about leaving Saturday, but Sunday is still better than Tuesday. Unfortunately, the trade-off for the earlier departure is losing the bulkhead bassinet seats on both legs of the long trip home (16+ total hours in the air, with a 7-hour layover in Frankfurt). I did buy a seat for Brady, so we'll manage.

He looks so cute in the little tub! Try asking for a bassinett on the flight even though you don't have the bulkhead. They gave me one to set on the floor for Madina. It wasn't ideal but with the extra seat you have some room on the floor that is clear and if he falls asleep you can put him in it. It worked well for us from Almaty to Frankfurt. For the second leg she woke everytime I tried to put her in it so we just held her.

Scott's flying in the day you are flying out. I guess we (actually, they since I am in Illinois!) are the last ones of this wave of people I know there.

So glad the bath thing is getting better. It is with Alia too. It has just taken some getting used to. He looks so cute in his tiny tub!
